Just stumbled upon this thread. It's not nissan related but I thought I'd post up a shot of my track car engine bay. I wanted it all to look fairly OEM, not so much for the po po but more so my competitors know that it's a stock 1.6L keeping up with their rwd turbo :)

On another note, my 180 bay looks like bling city and I'll be making it look a bit more sedate in the future so I'll post up on here when i'm done.

Neat and tidy. Although the intercooler pipe on the left side immediately gives it away as not stock, so I'm not 100% convinced you have your competitors fooled ^_^

after being defected a few times i decided to comply by changing a few bits and pieces of my engine bay.

the car makes 248kw with a low mounted 2871r cams z23 bolted onto a standard airbox and a few other supporting mods...

still need to change the silcon joiners to black and possibly paint the strut brace and engine damper black, however while the police officer was inspecting my car he did mention the braces are all fine to have and they are not an issue...

Very impressive. The green silicon joiner makes me think it is an ARC intercooler kit? I think the only slight giveaway is the exhaust manifold but 99.99% of people would not look twice hehe. I'm very surprised that people are making alot of power with stock airboxes! Very cool.

wrinkle red rocker cover
wrinkle black piping and plenum chamber

the big fuck off turbo doesnt help with keeping the stock standard look

This was my engine bay when I got defected for a loud exhaust (rusted out 4") and a BOV as seen

Attached Image: 1000849_649344235093563_1314663681_n.jpg

This is my engine bay now, blumbed back the BOV and only have a few other little cosmetic things to do, most my work is planned to be done internally
