i have ABS on my s13 silvia and i would like to remove it for standard brakes

is it as simple as removing the system and chucking in new brake lines?

dont have to change the master or get new lines if you are retaining the same brakes. just remove the abs unit and use a splitter at the end of the front brake line where it went into the ABS unit to split the front brake lines. I know it works because thats what Ive done to mine. if you dont want to go through the hassel of removing stuff, you can just pull the ABS fuse and it will deactivate the system and work as per non ABS

cheers guys

how does pedal feel under hard braking with the abs master? and no abs working?

exactly the same.

+1

splitter is easy.

non abs master + new hard lines and a flaring tool is better if your so inclined.

Thread revival:

Trying to find specific information on Type X ABS removal.

Is everything still required for the change? (Non-ABS master cylinder and new hard lines)

Any recommendation on which type of master cylinder if required.

Cheers

Would be same as a silvia. The BMC you want a big One other wise it will be all soft and squishy under your shoe like a new borns skull. For you at the moment the stock silvia/180 will do, theres a few sizes so go for the biggest one you find. There's "bm##" on them. However, once you get your new set up, I would go a skyline master cylinder because you can get them bigger. Or just get it now and save the extra hassle

Mine's been broken since I bought the car almost two years ago and I've never had need for it. Prefer the weight reduction + engine bay space.

That and a brake upgrade means I'm in the market for an upgraded BMC so it seemed like the time to get rid of it.

Forum has some technical issues that were shown on this it also has some facts and figures that present the nature of the issue. I will able to collect data from this so I can make my writemypapers reviews this was for presenting the path of error and its solution.
