Recommended Posts

Hey guys, Thinking about ditching the disgusting hp racing rims that came with my s15 when i bought it and getting some work emotion xd9's. First of all would like to know if i will need to roll the guards if i lower her aswell. looking at 18x9 +20 and 18x10 +30 for the rears?

Im extremely stuck on the color . Anyone got a blue s15 and running xd9's would love to see some pictures?

Also keen on emotion 11R

+20 (closer to 0, will sit further out from the guards than +30 (further away from 0)

http://www.rimtuck.com/thumbnails.php?vehiclemake=Nissan&vehiclemodel=S15&

Go to that link, have a look at all the s15's their wheels, has the widths, offset yada yada.

f**k it I'll do it for you..

Nissan S15 2002 18 x 9.0 +24 (front) 225/40 18 x 10.0 (rear) +30 235/40

Guards will most likely need to be pumped in the rear if you want to run -1/-1.5 camber otherwise if you just lower it they'll probably camber out and you won't need to roll them/pump them much at all..

Fronts shouldn't be a problem with coilovers, just run -2.5 or so.

No offset, has nothing to do with dish..

Yes it does, i'd be interested in hearing how offset has nothing to do with the amount of dish?

I think you used a bad choice of word :P

Well generally.. In the case of wheels which DO have dish.. the lower the offset the more dish.

So if you ordered 17x9+30 and 17x9.5+15 the 17x9.5+15 pair would have more dish.

But generally XD9's for memory are all relatively close in terms of dish anyway.

Some info on XD9's someone said, 18x10j rims have the big 73mm dish. 17x9.5j rims have a maximum of 68mm dish

whoa whoa whoa. you want 9 +30 front and 10 +20 rear? (the rears will sit nearly an inch out further than the front.... )

that is going to look farken shit.

some things to remember. XD9s don'r come in a 10 +20 or 10 +30. so please have a clue about that.

the 10s both have the same dish, no matter the offset.

all the CRAP in this thread makes baby jesus cry

get 9 +30 for the front and 10 +38 for the rear. enjoy, i will not be back ;)

Why not go 9 +20 ish all round? (bling is usually on point) Am I missing something?

9 +22 fit my s14 nicely. Are s15 guards really that much more shallow?

I sometimes wish I went slightly more agressive in the rear. Gonna suss out some spacers though.

You need much lower offset on the front, with what you have suggested the rear will be sitting outside the guard and the front will be sitting inside.... BTW you will probs need a reasonable amount of work to get the 18 x 10 + 18 on the back without lots of camber.

The wheels are a Monoblock aluminium cast unit or as JDM concepts say:

"Work Emotion XD9 is made from one piece special cast aluminium construction"

Which means light weight compared to heavy steel knockoffs etc.

As far as the actual weight is concerned it would depend on the size and width you go for:

Best bet would be to find a dealer that actually has the size that you are after and asking them

to weigh it, but unless you are looking to be a genuine sale the dealer may not be soo helpful.

Try JDM Concepts, prices are good and they have good stock of the common sizings.
