Actually looks clean like that. I think the rear bar suits the front, but I think biggest thing is the fact you dont have type X sideskirts. Everyone wants them, I've always felt they ONLY look good with type X front kit.

Nice ride, bolt-ons and moar low is a winner for me.

Go the Ziptie route with Nissan Aero skirts and then match a S15 Aero front bar/lip.

The skirts on yours have what looks like a channel in them but the rear bar has a stepped out bit along the bottom (lip is it?)

It kinda looks slimming around the doors with the skirts like that, then bulbous around the rear bar.

I'm not bagging it but the lines are very contrasting.

Keep the strawberry front please.

I was never a fan of S15 front end conversions on 180's, the front and rear always looked too different. I do however love normal Sil80's, especially with bolt ons, like Ziptie or the pommy sil80 she posted earlier (both are on the wall at work). Maybe flares will give the front and rear something in common. Definitely can't find a picture of it on the googlenets, haven't heard of anyone trying it before.

Front bar does need a lip, not too keen on hunting down an aero bar.

Type x skirts/kit may work in future but i have no intention on following the trends too much smile.png

 

Its a shame phillb is based in Syd or i'd go through him for sure.

S13 aero skirts on a sil80 imo.

they bulk up the sides and go better with the normal style headlights.

Type X skirts look awesome on a 180 (popup lights) or Onevia.

The lines of type X suit the sleeker 180 nose.

Been a busy girl eh? Good to see your 1580 getting out there, unlike mine :lol:

 

If you have the strength to do it, try unbolting and removing the bonnet when you're working towards the rear of the engine bay, as it makes the work so much easier.

ok so your car has turned out, aesthetically almost EXACTLY how i wanted mine to look (only difference being the tail lights, and i have rotas) soooo I'm gonna have to completely rethink my design D:

Do it anyway. The car is a stock-bodied S1580 with aftermarket rear bumper, flares, skirts, front wings and tint. Given the rear will need filling-out, for a tasteful setup there really isn't much room for deviation from this formula beyond a different kit, widebody overfenders, pumped guards or a different colour paintjob.

i still have tail lights, the wing, and i may be going the kouki front very soon.

Build what you love, there will always be someone out there thats done it before, but as long as your satisfied it doesnt matter, its still different ^_^

Firstly i got my 12mm boss kit from NRG only to find having a 330mm momo doesnt allow for a horn, so i made up a ring to space it just enough.

Bought new gaskets, stud kit weekend job.

 

Car was running funny so i done an overhaul service. As it sat for two days, it turned out, the fuel pump randomly gave up on life, so in went a walbro :).

Nice airbrake ;), suits the styling of the car well. How badly does the ducktail obscure rear vision though? My S15 GT wing on the 180 takes up an amount of realestate, but that thing is solid. Worth replacing the rear vision mirror with an LCD and a reversing camera perhaps?

From my observations, the car is done well and no shortcuts like most of these cars are done. Not quite to my styling and needs a few tweaks here and there but its defiantly something id like to keep and eye out. To tie it all in a little better, i think it needs some kinda after market front bar and smaller front flares.

 

Also, reckon you can get a measurement and maybe a pic of the distance the steering wheel is from your indicator stalk with your set up?

Awesome touches that make this 1580 stand out really well, good work :)

 

Only other thing i would do is fix that dint on the 1/4 and get a supermade rear bar that will sit a little lower to make the rocket bunny spoiler flow into ifyaknowwatimean :wub: it

yep fully sik airbrake haha jks, cant feel too much of a difference tbh.

Cant see it at all from the side mirrors, just the revision and its made the back feel more enclosed, does obstruct rear vision a little but if anything just enough to minimise the constant annoyance of idiots tailing with high beams.

New nuts/bolts and high temp locktight, it still came loose and turbo decided to fall off the manifold while i was out.

 

Melted my loom and ignitor a good 10cm away on the strut tower.

Had nothing to get it on enough to keep it running and get it home.. (fyi: guard rail reflector bolts are the perfect size)

In my case few mm off, i was going to cut up my speaker wire until i saw one of my Ocky straps in the back.

 

..amazed it worked, got me home, AND didnt melt. biggrin.png

Holy Z! I think I just peaked at maximum jealousity.

 

What went wrong? Turbo came off the manifold? If so, get some locking tabs! Somehow they're missing off every Silvia, despite coming from factory...
